While we're discussing lost Cruise Missiles I'll add another true tale.

In mid '86 I was working for the contractor that developed the Tomahawk.
 During a building renovation the Mexican demolition crew took a load of
demo to a scrapyard in Tijuana. In the load was one of the Williams
turbofan motors (Value? about $150k). Took industrial security almost a
week to find it. Only person diciplined was the plant protection guard
that let it out. He got three days off.
