Well then... The old Mercury/UUCP installation on the
Atari still has the name "traveller" in it's configs.
(That's nine chars, but it's never made any problems

I assume there's no problem with long system names in
uucp as long as you don't insist on the names being
equivalent to the logins with uucico as shell (and then
most TCP/IP based uucp connections will probably use
uucpd instead of system logins anyway).
