Gawd I hated that...having to confirm that YES, I REALLY DO WANT TO DELETE
THIS FARQING FILE DAMN IT! Eventually I just put a COPYCMD=/Y (or
something like that) in my CONFIG.SYS file which forced the equivalent of
a /Y option (effectively, do not confirm) to any command that could
overwrite/delete files and the problem was solved.
Stupid Microsoft.

I realized early on it was ripe for trouble so I automatically disabled
it.
