Well, lore has it that the first Apple ][ had serial number 2001 (Jobs'
deference to Stanley Kubrick), so the serial number on this unit is
somewhat of a mystery to me. I remember when Ernest first came to me way
back when he first acquired this. I was confused with the serial number.
He is pretty sure from his research that the number written on the
motherboard is indeed the serial number, but I still have to wonder.
