Are you sure you're not thinking of the keyboard adapters for the
second-gen 700-series (like the 715/80, /64, /100, etc.)? You can't
connect a keyboard or mouse to those machines without the box, which
provides both HIL and PS/2 ports. These were a huge PITA to find for my
two 715/80s, and I think I ended up paying close to $80 apiece for them.
