SUN SCSI vs non-SUN?

That's what I'm in the process of and the seller is doing - these are used
drives, likely from Sun servers and obviously have a lot of service hours.
They run fine horizontally, but my Netserver hotswap bays are vertical and
that's when they won't initialize, and consequently buzz/vibrate.

I was basically making sure that Sun SCSI was usable in other SCSI
applications, that they hadn't made them proprietary in some way.
