SPAM - RFC from list admin

As for option "2", not only does it get my vote (I think that whitelist
/ blacklist / sending confirm messages is cumbersome and will discourage
legitimate non-subscribed posts), but I re-iterate my offer to accept and
screen non-sub posts, and lest anyone *actually* think that such screening
would be used to 'cherry-pick' incoming offers.... that's kind of
insulting, on one level; maybe a faint concern, but the other opportunity
is to accept the spam, delete it, and ask that the obligatory "noise" that
each and every occurance generates be suppresses voluntarily.

Yeah, folks - that was a Spam Post. We all read it. We know you read it.
Delete it, complain to the proper organization, launch Cyber-Armageddon on
the offending miscreants... but the big{er} problem with the small amount
of spam we get is, IMHO, that various listmembers feel compelled to pitch
a public fit *each and every time*... thus needlessly compounding the
problem.

Again, I volunteer to accept non-sub traffic and pass on the UnSpam
parts of it, sending the residue to /dev/nul where it belongs.

  Just my $.02

Back in Sunny Arizona; looking for a five to ten bedroom house on 40 acres
with one or two barns and/or outbuildings. Yeah it means I'll have to
sleep in the yard in a tent, but I'd have plenty of room for my Stuff.
For the first couple of months, at least....
