        I recall that in the 1989-90 timeframe PC-Tools was quite
popular, though I never used it myself. I liked to use QDOS for
simple file and directly manipulation functions, though it broke on
larger partitions. I don't recall the version numbers, but I don't
remember hearing about problems until the later versions of PC-Tools.
