Sounds like an early Ethernet card...

The Ungerman-Bass Ethernet cards are similar in most components except that
they use a '186 processor instead of the 68000


Bridge Communications made Ethernet 'Bridges' and terminal servers before
being bought out by someone else (don't remember who)
