Careful with air brakes: these tend to respond in a deferred manner, and
if you aren't used to this, you will push harder on the pedal, so when
the brakes engage, they will do better than you want them to.

The first time I had to drive a truck with air brakes (a truck large
enough so you aren't required to wear seat belts in Germany), I was
accompanied by two guys of about 250 pounds each. When I was struck by
the effect of deferred but amplified brakes, both of them were on their
way towards the windscreen: a great view from my seat, but their next
words weren't quite as great... ;-)
