If you hook them to a reasonably intelligent SCSI interface, e.g. ADAPTEC 2940
or the like, which will allow you to do simple things from the BIOS promt, you
can see what you're dealing with and what effect the switches have.
It's true, Maynard and others repackaged these drives, but if you allowed them
to identify themselves, they appeared as Exabyte drives with correct
nomenclature. The only problem you could run into is that the drives might be
differential. If that's the case, you need a differential controller.
