Sounds alot like a Fujistu 8?" FSD/SMD. Used in the early Apollo 'personal'
workstations, although those suckers (the Apollo) probably weighed 500lbs
complete. The concept of what a personal workstation is has changed
somewhat
since then. This guy (the Fujitsu) was considered a size breakthrough in
~1980.
Mainframe disk drives were 5X bigger by weight.
