  Here's a really radical idea: use a Wiki. Check out

  for an idea of what a WikiWikiWeb is like. Quite dynamic, purely text
driven (so far, all the Wiki's I've seen have been primarily text based) and
very open to every one (and that's one of the things that scares most
people).

  Other than that, I still prefer email.
