My vote is to let him on with a warning. If his primary business it to deal
in equipment, maybe restrict him to X number of posts per week/month.
Collectively we're pretty good enforcers of the rules and if he steps
outside, he'll pay.

below is the response I got. As I said before, I don't intend to post these
kinds of emails to the list, but this one I'm a little torn on and not sure
