FWIW, My personal experience say Sun != SGI 13W3 isn't always true.

The 21" dual input Sun monitor I've got on my desk has a standard 15 pin
VGA input, and a 13W3. That 13W3 input (so far) has plugged
successfully into every bit of Sun & SGI HW I've tried. (OT List:
SS10, SS5, Ultra1, Indy, and Octane)

Of course, YMMV, mebbe its a smart monitor :-)
