Now waitaminit... I disagree... *some* folks might prefer a 9mm... if so,
they should be given the chance to use that instead. Also, I could think of
1 target area that might be preferable than what you suggested...

Ditching SMTP for a totally secure (including accountability) protocol is
the *only* way to bring the spam problem under control. A good start is
here:
http://cr.yp.to/im2000.html but it's far from complete; and it would
take years to implement fully. Methinks some federal funding should be
allocated -> IMHO it would be better spent there than $400 hammers...
