Aha. Then try using the correct terminology. You need a DOS-based
SMTP mailer, not a "command-line email client". There are zillions
of SMTP mailers, I can send you a copy of the one I wrote many moons
ago, which I still use for status reporting off some DOS boxes doing
process control.
Basically, like most other DOS network programs, it uses a network
stack (MSNET, Trumpet, CMU, PC/TCP or NCSA) to talk to the network,
so you need to have that installed.
