Do you have access to a genuine copy of 7.2.something? IIRC, 7.x is a lot better able to handle 3rd party SCSI disks than 6.x.
I'll admit I'm really not up on using 3rd party disks with DEC HW (except PDP-11's) as I've a large collection of RZ29's and some RZ25's and RZ28's. Though I am starting to look into moving to 3rd party disks to get larger sizes.
