Hi
 Seems to be a standard Lead Acid cell. I have some Silver Zinc
cells that are dry stored that look similar. These use
an alkali unlike the lead acid cells.

 Most likely for a transistor unit, being from the 80's. I have
two old tube radiosondes that I've collected.
