What's the issue? The word is "flat-screen" and indeed the SCREEN is
flat. The whole unit is not, but that's not what the word claims.

Contrast "flat panel" where indeed the whole thing is flat.

As marketing terminology goes, this one is quite reasonable.
Confusingly similar between two different devices, yes, but each term
is accurate as it stands.
