I've got a little Belkin attached to the consoles of some remote
servers, where it is "good enough". Mixed linux and peecee. No
keyboard problems, but the video quality sucks, though good enough for
a system console.

For our low-cost home-made media room (UCI) I ended up buying a
$1500 VGA and audio matrix switch. No more video image quality
problems. It's a 3 x 4 matrix, a serial command interface, that
we've cobbled up a MAX interface for.
