In the Army, I'd gotten 300 baud to work with acoustic couplers using some
crypto equipment I can't tell you about -- over military FM radio! (the big
honkin' ugly noizy bastages...) It took three tries, but it worked --
everyone I talked to said I'd never make it work. ;-)

With a direct link into the phone (thereby avoiding a lot of noise) I would
be surprised if it didn't work... assuming you have someone/something on
the other end that could correctly interpret the 300 baud signal.
