Rumor has it that Vintage Computer Festival may have mentioned these words:

What rights would those be?

I "almost was" an auctioneer -- I would have been if my father-in-law
would've had his way. He was an auctioneer for ~30 years, and I worked with
him for almost 10, so I do know a thing or two about it.

1) My father-in-law was one ornery SOB -- and he did remove people from his
auctions when necessary. Heck, I think he took pleasure in it.

2) I've seen many people do this at his auctions, and while he a) wasn't
'keen' on it, and b) had his 'auctioneer tricks' to try to keep it from
happening, he never *actively* discouraged it, let alone boot people for
it... and believe me, he actively discouraged a *lot* of things. ;-)

3) He was by far the best auctioneer in the area. Had he gotten his wish,
I'd be one of the best in the area now.

Maybe it's Cali state law? :^> Never heard of it in Michigan, tho.

To put things back on track -- what's the best classiccmp related thing you
ever got *at a live action* (as in: not ePay)?

Me: my Heathkit 3400A Microprocessor Trainer, and some other (maybe not
quite related) Heathkit training materials, most still in near perfect
shape. In my neck of the woods, that's akin to finding the end of the
rainbow; pickin's are pretty slim around here!
