Christie's auction

I got the catalog for the upcoming Christie's "Origins of Cyberspace"
(total misnomer) auction. Wow, this stuff is waaaaaaaaaay over-valued. I
have no idea w ho came up with this, but it borders on jokery.

The catalog itself is a glossy, 246 page book that must've cost tens of
thousands of dollars to produce and print. I'll be surprised if they
recoup what it cost just to print the catalog.

I'll be heading over to the preview at Stanford later today.

The good thing in all this is that after the auction flops, the false
expectations that all the hype this auction caused will fall through the
floor and people will stop e-mailing me with offers of vintage 1986
portables.
