x86 Assembler Recommendations
MASM 6 does run in pure DOS environments. I have it here.
However, I actually use the old DR (Digital Research - CP/M) Assembler
RASM86. It's part of "DR Assembler Plus Tools". It's available for both
CP/M-86 and MS-DOS environments, and it's free. I've seen it online in a
number of places but I can't give you a link offhand (I'm sure that someone
else will post one, however).
It's fine for straight X86 programming, but doesn't fully support the latest
processors.
