Snip

Born 1941, grew up on mechanical calculating devices. An adding machine
at that time weighted a bit more than today's PC. Grandad's cash
register weighed about what these little 4 cylinder car engines do now
and had a hand crank on the side. The first computer I was around was
in collage, an IBM of some sort.

I still have my first 8080 and I have even forgotten the manufacturer.
There are several CP/M systems including an Osborne Executive, a couple
Altos MP/M boxes, about a dozen VAXs and several PCs running Linux
around here. The first computer related job I had was writing parts of
the solid rocket booster simulator in the GOAL language at the Marshall
Space Flight Center. Now I am fully retired and the computer collecting
has had to slow way down.
