Recurrant rumour... 'Want', yes. 'need', no.

All of the individual power supplies in the 11/780 are single phase 110vac
units as in all of the DEC gear I've even come across. The 'power
controller' that was standard in the '780 took the 3 phase input line and
split the phases into seperate outlet banks.

Bypass or replace the power controller, and party on! Of course, you
still end up needing three 50 amp 110vac circuits... B^{
