I have a friend who detests WP and loves Wordstar. I pinned him down
one day; he worked with Wordstar and had pirated WP. (He'd never seen
an overlay.)

My opinion; whatever you use becomes familiar and easy-to-remember.
I prefer WP's F3-F3 approach to Word/Wordstar's confiscation of screen
space and can never remember the control-key sequences.
