source for foam filter material

I decided to try using the carbon pre-filter material for a honeywell
hepa air cleaner unit. The air flow is definitely reduced, so i'll have
to watch and see if the computer is overheating.

The original filter material was so thin, it was very easy to see through
it. If i could think of something thinner, or more pourous, that would
be best i suppose.
