Indeed... I have the same trouble with my Silent 700 Teletyple.. I don't
have any phones that have a round handset.. I found it's best to set some
heavy books on it to get the phone to cover the muffs well, then stuff
some tissue around it.. (no, not heavy enough books to break it, just
enough to make a good connection.) I was able to use a cordless fone with
it using this method (!)... it was fine until it either changed channels
or had a call waiting beep... lots of garbage.
