Neither OS will read the other's disks without a converter program. There
was a utilities disk (bundled with the //e) that included such a program,
but it apparently had bugs with large files or something like that. A
better program would be any version of Copy II Plus.
All the ProDOS/DOS 3.3 conversion programs I know of run under ProDOS.
Oh yeah, ProDOS handles 3.5" disks and hard drives without messy hacking.
Also note that there have been different versions of DOS 3.3 (that is, the
version number stopped changing but the program got patched).
