No, that does not soud correct.
The external SCSI-Connector (if you have one) on a MV3100 is a rather
small, 68-PIN-HD-like connector, comparable to modern SCSI-III
connectors.

You might have one of those serial multiport cards..
You're TK50 is the "right" one, though...
