Depraz was the company that made mice for the Whitechapel
workstation. They were also round, with three buttons.
I'll have to check at home to see what the part number is.
Acorn used a very similar mouse (same maker) on early ARM
systems, I think.

Neither of those companies chose the red version, though...

Of course! All you have to do is build a
quadrature-to-serial convertor box. As Tony would say,
never waste time buying something you could build yourself.
