I have never found any faulty soldering in HP equipment, but the most
beautifully soldered stuff I have seen is in '60s vintage Tek scopes.
Really. Perfectly shiny after all these years. There must be silver
in there. And porcelain standoffs. And, going back to HP equipment, those
gold-plated HP connectors usually keep positive contact even after several
decades.
