About a year and half ago I booted the 1.4.2 release of NetBSD/i386 on a
4MB 386DX/25. It was tight, but it worked. I can even remember running
pre-1.0 versions of Linux on a friend's 2MB 386SX/16. I had to
temporarily lend him two 1MB SIMMs for the initial install and a kernel
recompile.
