Jumpering for NEC FD-1165H 8-inch floppy drive

Title says it. Can anyone point me to online data for this elderly
device? I'm trying to get mine working with a Compaticard IV on an older
'486 PC. For reasons I do not understand, the motor isn't starting
although the heads load and step properly. DC power looks fine going into
the drive, but the motor is not seeing any of it.
