Have you done this? I'm not sure I'd want to risk it, but I have
a bunch of 9825 machines -- some with full travel keyboards -- that
would be nicer to use than the "chicklet" keyboard.

Thanks for the link. I do have a plug-in ROM for the 9885 drives.
The ROM is an HP 98218A and is marked "For Use in 9831A."
