That takes the cake, although I have gotten several shipments of things shipped
IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOX that have just made me wince (meaning, wrap tape around
the whole thing, slap a sticker on it, ship). One particular item was very
small (early sound card) that could have fit inside a USPS priorital mail box,
and I asked specifically that they double-box it because I was a collector and
the box was important to me. So what did they do? They put the original
contents inside a box, then put that box inside the original box, then covered
the entire thing with shipping tape, then mailed. When I saw it I literally
started screaming since the item was relatively rare complete.
While the box is somewhat crushed, I have it displayable because I spent hours
each day carefully peeling the tape off of the box, and only managed to rip a
1/2 inch section. (I tried a hair dryer but that always seems to just make
things gummy and never really works for me).
