If you read the fine print when you sign up for a Ross Dove auction
they reserve the right to bid on behalf of themselves or the company
they are selling for. Legal shilling.... in the US... Just good
commercial paractice....
I learned to go back to the sale the next day and negotiate for those
shilled items. The list of leftovers was often 4, 5 or 6 pages of
stuff.
They opened up three warehouses to hold the leftovers till they could
sell them in a later auction. This in the late 80s & early 1990s.
